One thing I’ve learned about automotive styling is that there’s probably no subject where you’ll find less agreement or consensus. Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder, and everybody’s eyes are different. However…
quote: “It still looks good, I think. But you’ve got the E-Tron. You’ve got Mercedes. You’ve got all these companies coming out with these cars. Porsche Taycan. And then we still have the S-Class.”
To my eyes the Model S is better looking than any of those. The Mission-E prototype looked fantastic, but somehow Porsche managed to reduce the Taycan to just another stodgy German car. That was an unforced error, IMHO.
The real problem for the S is that there’s a certain category of buyer who wants to flaunt it and show the world that they just bought an expensive new car, and it needs to be something their neighbors don’t already have. It’s keeping up with the Joneses, or keeping ahead of them… The Model S today doesn’t convey that message quite the way it used to. To me personally it’s a bunch of nonsense, but there are undoubtedly car buyers who view it through that lens.

I agree with Ben, I love my S. it is super functional and it's a performance model so it is fast. I love the way it looks and I have AP1 and it does everything I need it to do. Never once had range anxiety or any issues. now over 90,000 miles and it drives like new. The 3 is nice, and I will probably get one when the Y comes out.. I am just not a fan of brand new cars.. I like buying after they have already depreciated.
