Will Roomba Fall Down the Stairs??

There are infrared sensors mounted underneath, pointing straight downward, so Roomba can detect what it calls “cliffs” (stairs and steep drops). iRobot Roomba 650 Vacuum Cleaning Robot brings on-board scheduling to the standard-setting Roomba. With AeroVac™ Technology, Roomba 650 easily handles fibers like hair, pet fur, lint and carpet fuzz.

Everyday clean without the effort

Pet hair, crumbs, dirt, and daily dust are always building up, so keeping your home clean can feel like a never-ending task.

That’s why iRobot brings you the Roomba family of vacuuming robots. Combining a powerful cleaning system with intelligent sensors, our robots move seamlessly through your home, adapting to the surroundings to thoroughly vacuum your floors — leaving you with more time for what’s important.

Just because it didn't, doesn't mean it won't. I have the Roomba 890 & it fell down the stairs going to the entryway (only 4 steps)

Scared the hell out of me but it is still ok & working great. (Some minor scrapes but nothing major)

Be aware, this feature is not 100% proof. I bought one 2 month ago.
When lazy, I drag it upstairs for vacuuming.

I did it 5 or 6 times and all was OK, but it fell down the stairs today.

So that's give me a 15% failure rate for the moment.
    Won't try this anymore !
