Wemo Maker, reed switch and homebridge

Wemo Maker connected to a NC/NO reed switch with open/closed push alerts on iPhone.

I’ve since changed to just a NC reed switch

Not shown is homebridge running on a Raspberry Pi. HomeKit on the iPhone is showing the door as open or closed when the magnet moved towards or away from the reed switch. It is also configured to send push notifications.

Here’s the homebridge config.json file, it’s very basic but works for all my wemo devices (wemo light bulbs, insight switches and maker):

“bridge”: {
“name”: “Homebridge”,

“platform”: “BelkinWeMo”,
“name”: “WeMo Platform”

    I just found out that the Wemo Maker cannot be integrated to Wemo Bridge according to Wemo customer support which makes no sense?!?! I use the Wemo Maker to control my garage door as well but I want to use Siri to open/close my garage via voice command. Has anyone done this and how? I already have garage door notification via my Wemo App but one of main reasons is to open/close garage via Siri.
