Tesla Model S v Holden V8 Supercar v Walkinshaw HSV GTS Drag Race

It’s on — a drag race of epic proportions. It’s the world’s fastest four-door sedan, the Tesla Model S P85D, against Australia’s fastest four-door sedans, the Supercheap Auto Racing Holden Commodore V8 Supercar and the Walkinshaw Performance W507 HSV GTS.

The Tesla Model S P85D rockets from 0-100km/h in just 3.3-seconds, while the V8 Supercar does it in 3.4-seconds, but weighs just 1400kg with the driver.

Strap on as we see who wins — USA v Australia.

How come they used a PLEB to drive the V8 supercar ? The tesla are not actually this quick , how much did tesla pay for this garbage ; i have looked at the stats for tesla and its really not as quick as this makes out .

Difference really is when you run out of power in an electric vehicle only way out is a car transporter to a charging port with a petrol car its a walk to a petrol station with your jerry can , i much prefer walking with my jerry can thanks… and then there is the battery replacement costs in about 10 years where these tesla buyers will have second thoughts

If you allow your vision to only see, where seems possible or reasonable, you limit the true potential of your success. I take my hat off to the engineering behind the EV's, but that is ALL. So it has an electrical motor, big deal. That won't fix the world's problems. Electricity for that has to come from somewhere. Solar and wind are NOT going to cut it. Plus, range is shit. I can get from Sydney to Brisbane on a tank of fuel. Not sure where I can sit and recharge the Tesla fro 14 hours before finishing my journey. So cost of a recharge plus the cost of overnight stay, plus dinner and breakfast….Plus it's NOT cheap…$150K who can afford that…so we are not going to save the world after all… unless we can make it affordable for everyone huh, which (lets face it is not going to happen). Then you have the cost of recycling those toxic batteries….then you have the cost of destroying the car when it has an accident, putting fires out on an electrical vehicle isn't cheap (see YT elsewhere for that story). So…

I don't know about you but I do NOT think it is quite an impressive machine. It wouldn't get me where I want to go when I want it to. And I don't have the time to wait to get it to recharge to get me there, so…Not for me!
