I got my Wii back in 2011 and I not only still have it but also I still buy games for it as of 2018. The newest one I've gotten is EA Sports Active which I got this January and I'm really enjoying it. There are still some games I don't have for it that I would like to get such as Wii Sports, The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword, and the Sonic storybook games. Plus I still haven't gotten a Just Dance game.

  2. Game Queen

I'm still playing the Wii because it's modded and have over 300 games on it. Sega Genesis, Atari 2600, NES, SNES, N64 GB/GBC/GBA, Wiiware titles such as Cave Story, Bit.Trip Runner, Nyx's Quest ETC, and it plays gamecube and wii discs.

  3. Deadly Gaming LV

It's hard to recommend several titles because there are so many good ones but I do have one that stands out to me. I recommend a game called Vertigo. It's sort of like Marble Madness in 3D. It plays really well with the Wii Mote. Beautiful visuals, stellar music and a lot of fun to play! 🙂

Wii still has the Virtual Console for Retro gamers. Long lost shmups like Gleylancer and Musha, Neo Geo games, SNES RPG's, and more. And even though it uses component cable for 420p, games look light years better than the PS2 component cables at 420i. I'm gonna go buy all the games i still need this winter before the VC shuts down.

The thing is future speculation is about supply and demand. One needs to understand that there is 10-20x more WII games/product available in the used market than SNES or NES. What keeps price up is scarcity. Xbox and PS2 was the beginning of uber mass production of games. If you collect for later systems, it helps to understand which particular games are rare.

I loved my wii back in day but my ex went n sold it without asking safe to say i dumbed his arse cos i saved to get it on pre order and he sold it for £80 was gutted luckly my sister gived me one other year for netflix not played it in a while but wanna get into it for over winter plus i wanna build my wii collection i got to say it is one of my fav consoles of all time x

Didn't have a Wii in its day but have one now. The console and games are so cheap I had to pick one up. So in playing catch-up i found some unique games you might like – Boom Blocks, Marble Mania and Sin & Punishment. If I'm going to play Shawn white snowboarding I use the Wii board but its only really useful for fitness titles.

  8. CommodoreMax

I just love the Wii. The main reason is because I can play my GameCube games with it (I boxed and shelved my GameCube system long ago). Other reasons are the endless possibilities with emulators and homebrew. I've always liked simple and compact designs and Wii is no different.

  9. The Top Loader

I still play Tatsunoko vs Capcom.. my favourite wii game ever. I still have it set up and my kid plays wii sports. Its great for playing the cube too like you gals said. My dad earlier this year got really sick and he basically had to learn to walk again to get his balance back and to my surprise they had him on the wii fit board…so theres one use but i never had an interest in it personally

Yes and I love the Wii! Sin and Punishment, House of the Dead, Rogue Squad for rail shooters. Donkey Kong Country Returns, Mario Kart Wii, Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2, Wolverine are my favorites

  11. The Dark Mark

I like the wii. Don't play it as much as I use to but the games I played where the broken sword game the rebooted, secret files games all point and click so far. Donkey kong country returns the trauma games.
Plenty more tbh but those where my games

  12. RadioShadow

I still have mine connected to my main TV. Mainly to play GameCube games with a component cable (you get 480p with some USA/Japan games). Plus using the Nintendodont app, you can easily play imports (and "backups").

I also use it to run unoffiical emulators. Pretty easy to use if you have Homebrew installed. So I can easily play SNES, mega Drive, NES games etc.

Af for some Wii Games (Disc), there are some classics:
    – WarioWare: Smooth Moves: Uses the Wii Remote really well for those quick mini games.
    – Wario: Shake It!: A gorgeous 2D animated platform!
    – Tatsunko VS. Capcom: A 2D fighter that uses 3D models. Really cool music too. Shame they didn't use
    Marvel characters.
    – Battalion Wars 2: Think Advance Wars style but real time tactics. What's great about this game if you can choose which unit to command. Really cheap to pick up.
    – Mario & Sonic at Vancouver Winter Games: Personally my favorite out of the Mario & Sonic games. Such a good fun multi-player game. Some games even use the Wii Fit board, so you can use you bum to control the bobsleigh.
    – Muramasa: The Demon Blade: I brought this for £10 years ago and really need to play it. A decent hack and slash game.
    – Punch-Out!!: Such a awesome remake of the NES version, but better! The Motion Controls work really well.
    – Mario Party 8: It's Mario Party. What more should I say?

It's a shame a lot of shovel wear puts a lot of people off. Although the PlayStation 2 has WAY more than the Wii, and that doesn't put people off. I think the PS2 had like 800 PAL only games. I hate to see how many were good.

i agree its great for kids i use it to entertain the nephew mario kart and wii sports 🙂 works very well loves the golf
i dont have the wii board still might be a laugh to see the newphew on tho :-p

I bought a wii in cash generator a couple of years ago for £20, the backwards compatible model. Got about 40 games, a lot of them not reliant on motion controls, though some are. Some of the games I have are Kororinpa, a boy and his blob, Klonoa, tatsunoko vs capcom all stars, a shadows tale. Don’t play it a lot but it’s still hooked up.

  15. BIT-ISH Bulldog

I modified my Wii many years ago, hard mod (chip) then a soft mod came out so I soft mod it so games run off Hard-drive… I use it time to time, mainly to play classics.. I do have 90% of games just not the rubbish games (Shovel ware)

  16. Eric Huff

I don't own or play the Wii anymore, but it did introduce me to Resident evil 4, and ever since I keep buying it for other consoles! I do miss being able to aim with the Wiimote.
