I just sunk a few $k in to Nest products because they had IFTTT support, if they did not have IFTTT support i wouldn't of purchased them. The products are now not fit for the purpose they were purchased for since they have just announced they are pulling the pin. So this is clearly deceptive sales practices, and i hope people make a lot of noise and government regulators slap the shit out of Google for this. I will NEVER buy another Google product.

I’m wondering how sensitive this alarm is? My current detector near my kitchen goes off with a very small amount of smoke (from oven sometimes). Will this detector do the same? I like a detector that is very sensitive like this.

I’ve seen videos about the nest that it takes 4+ minutes to go off in very thick smoke. Is this the case with this detector?

I will be so grateful if you could turn off your intent router and reconnect it after about 15 minutes and check if it gets reconnect after internet connection comes back, my Nest Indoor Cam does not reconnect in this scenario unless I restart it manually

Hi thank you for the review. Question: does the alarm sound everytime it performs a daily test? I have a dog that gets very scared when the alarm beeps. Would hate to have it beep every night before bed. Thank you

Hey Thank you for a good review!
I just wanted to ask you two questions:
    1) i am a little worried to get to many fals alarms in the kitchen and wanted to ask you if the alarm sounded every time on the machine? Or you just get notification and when does the alarm goes of then?
    2) if you buy a couple of smoke detectors from nest. Is it possible that one detector in my babys room can be silent for alerts in the room but not in oir sleeping room?
    Thank you for your time!:)

Still not supporting Homekit!! How Can this Company say it is a serious Company? I could litterally have bought for 1000’s of euros from Nest, But all my House is Homekit integrated, so they made it impossible. Even though they have great products.
Come on Get in the game!!!!

It's July now, any software updates to sort out that night light? If I get one it would be installed above my bed, surely it would go off all the time and drain the batteries (and wake me up).

Have you tried this with iOS please?

Does the 2.0 work as a remote temperature sensor for the Nest thermostat? Say, your thermostat is downstairs and you want to monitor the temperature upstairs, where the Protect is, via the app or something like that.
