Inside Nissan Leaf Inverter- Nissan Leaf Motor Unit Teardown Pt 3- How to build an electric car proj

Part 3 of our Nissan Leaf Drive Unit Teardown series. This series is the first step in our electric car conversion and focusses on the components of the EV drive train (charger, electric motor, inverter.) In this video we take a look inside the Nissan Leaf Inverter

In this video we are continuing our disassembly of the drive unit stack from a 2014 Nissan Leaf, taking an look at the inside of the EV Inverter from the Nissan Leaf and going through how it operates.

The Inverter controls the power that goes to the Nissan Leaf Motor and as a result how much power the car will put on the road, so is a key part of our work on this conversion.

We do builds and projects with electric motors and on electric vehicles, with a focus on electric car conversions. The automotive world is moving towards electric cars at a great pace, but a lot of these are focussed on the mass market or are very expensive performance vehicles.

We want to see what can be done to create our own performance electric cars using the currently available components. We’ll take you through every step of our projects (both successes and failures.)

Please come and join us on this journey.

A note on this channel.
We do builds and projects with electric motors and on electric vehicles for entertainment purposes. While we try to make these videos as informative as possible, these are not instructions or how to videos. Working with high voltage electrical components is very dangerous and can injure, maim or kill. The same goes for working on cars and motorbikes. If these videos have inspired you to take on an EV project of your own, and we hope they have, we would encourage you to undertake the necessary study, education, training and/or investigations to familiarize yourself with tasks you are undertaking. Thanks for watching and we hope you have enjoyed the video.

Thanks for this video, you've done a great job! I am wondering what the part number of the MCU(or DSP) on the control board is, is it a TI TMS320 or anything else?
