How To Connect LG TV To Home Theater Using SIMPLINK

How To setup/connect LGTV To Home Theater Using SIMPLINK. SIMPLINK is the trade name that LG Electronics uses for HDMI CEC. In this video you will learn how to connect an LG television to an LG home theater using SIMPLINK. With SIMPLINK you can control an LG Home theater using the TV remote control.

Both the TV and Home theater should be connect to each other using a HDMI cable. For a much better experience I would advise you to also connect the two devices using an optical cable too. The optical cable will enable sound out to be transmitted to the home theater in normal TV viewing mode.

Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) is a feature of HDMI designed to control HDMI connected devices by using only one remote controller; so, individual CEC enabled devices can command and control each other without user intervention. For example, a television set remote controller can also control a set-top box and a DVD player.

Important Update. The play, pause, forward and reverse buttons will also work too.

SIMPLINK is a function that allows you to use the TV remote control to control the basic functions of connected HDMI devices.

For example, with the LG TV remote control you can control a connected Blu-Ray player: play, pause, fast reverse, etc.

Simplink uses the HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) standard, with which the device to be controlled must be compatible. In this case, you can use the device even if of a different manufacturer. The HDMI cable must also be of the HDMI-CEC type. Verification in the specifications.
