So this video was great but like all of the others…I get to the install of Homebridge and it always says sudo: npm: command not found and that's where I'm stuck…I have a brand new Pi 3 and I reformatted the SD disk 3 times and restarted fresh. Nothing seems to work. I've searched hi and low and none of the suggestions I find help. Any ideas?

Almost through but I get the following error trying to extract the node version that I just downloaded. Notice the last extension is .XZ

    pi@homebridge:~ $ tar -xzf node-v10.16.0-linux-armv6l.tar.xz

gzip: stdin: not in gzip format

    tar: Child returned status 1

tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

When I select Pi Filler and then "Detect Target Disk" I get the following error "Can’t make alias "Macintosh HD:Users:John:Downloads:" into type alias. Any suggestions?
