How to add HomeBridge easily to Hass.io for Siri control

The HomeBridge plugin allows control of Home Automation devices with IOS and Siri. This hass.io port of the plugin allows you to install HomeBridge on your Home Assistant instance running under hass.io in under 2 minutes flat with no command line stuff whatsoever. Brilliant.

Too bad the repository does not work anymore! I had Homebridge and Domoticz on 1 rasp (3B) but Domoticz always hangs so i decided to install Home Assistant. Too bad the new Home Assistant named Hassio, does not allow the normal SSH to give commands like sudo npm install -g –unsafe-perm homebridge anymore, so now how to install HomeBridge on the same Pi as where Home Assistant (Hassio) is.

    * WARNING * Please fix your application to use the native API of Avahi!

    * WARNING * The program 'node' called 'DNSServiceRegister()' which is not supported (or only supported partially) in the Apple Bonjour compatibility layer of Avahi.

Are you working on a video on how to add automations in the hass.oi interface? I have been trying to get samba to work so that I can make changes to the configuration.yaml for literally months but now with the new hass.io I can stop trying and just learn how to do it from the interface

    Pete
Can you point me in the direction for some good written or video based tutorials on getting MQTT, setting up sonoff devices and getting them working with Hass.io?

Hello Pete did you have to install anything other than HASS IO in order to get the homebridge add on to work? I have tried multiple times to get this installed following your instructions. The install button for the add on turns red during the install process and stops.
