DRAG RACE: Tesla Model S P100D vs Mercedes-AMG GT S

Race time: Tesla Model S P100D (AWD) against the Mercedes-AMG GT S Coupe (RWD)! The Tesla takes off the line quite well as expected, with the AMG lacking traction off the line. A longer runway and the might have been different. See the difference that electric and AWD makes off the line. Enjoy!
Tesla stats: 100kWh battery = 451kW power/931Nm (in Ludicrous mode)
AMG stats: 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 = 384kW/670Nm

On a traffic light a couple of months ago I was challenged by a Tesla owner. I politely refused to play along because I’m not stupid 😆! However I revved the car (AMG GTS) and asked him: “can your car make such crazy sounds?! 😂”.

Tesla may win but I would have a better looking cool car like the Merc anyday. You pull up at a light next to a Tesla and people would look at the Merc all the time.. Besides, ain't that the reason you bye a good looking car, to get stared at.

The Tesla must be a raven version because 10.7 is out of the range of the older Model S Performance. That being said Plaid coming next year if coronavirus does not hurt Tesla. The plaid should be able to top 10.7 though I hear it will only improve to 2.3 to 60. The word is that it will be able to go to much higher top speed without as much of a drop as it approaches the end of the quarter mile. Expect a sub 10.4 quarter mile.
