DJI Spark : 8 Tips Get the most out of your DJI Spark

Yes I know, you bought the Spark to be a small, compact drone you can bring anywhere. Well if you want to get the most out of your little Spark, you’ll want to add a few accessories to your drone. I also go through some best practice preflight flight procedures, tips about using Gesture Modes, Tripod Mode and the joy of Sport Mode.

Purchase the DJI Spark:
Video shot on:
Micro USB 2.0 OTG Micro USB to Female:
Lighting to USB 90 degree:
Skytreat DJI Mavic controller transport clip:
MavMount iPad tablet holder:
Type in ‘flytpath’ in the promo code during checkout
Spark Hard Case:
Apple iPad Air 2:

So what do I cover in this video? Here’s a list below:

1. Don’t fly indoors when you get your Spark
2. Calibrate your compass before you fly. The manual and the app show two different diagrams on how to calibrate. See what it says and what I heard from DJI
3. Get the remote for much more accurate and precise controls
4. Use a larger phone or in my case, I use a tablet for a much larger and clear video to help compose your shots
5. Use an MicroSD OTG cable for direct video link
6. Go through gesture tutorials first. Launch it from the app first, read through the directions and go through all the examples on screen.
7. Use tripod mode. What does it do and who is it for?
8. Sport mode makes it all worth it. Have fun with this mode.

Just had my first crash yesterday, now I have to pay for repairs and replacement. I learnt the hard way that flying drone as a beginner is not easy as I thought. Haih wish that I watch this video first before I even try to fly it. Anyway, thanks a lot man ! Very helpful !

I just got a spark and I noticed the quality being kinda low in the app and when I export the videos do you also have this problem? I’m not using a SD card would that help? Or does it buff as it loads?

I am thinking of getting an iPad mini 4 to display the video from a Mivic mini in flight mode. Is 16 gig memory adequate. The IPad mini is only for use with the app of the mini. Any comments appreciated. Thanks

Another great video with lots of info. I am the guy that’s 67. Got it today, $199.99 . Now to get all the extra things you recommend. Not even going to attempt a flight till I have all the equipment. I have an iPad Pro. Does it matter what iPad I use as I am considering the mini strictly to fly with. Which one would be better. I’m saving all your videos on the Spark that I can find. Thank you for posting such informative videos, and answering questions. Some guys put up videos and never answer questions. Guess they just don’t care.

I'm not sure if you have any experience with the Moverio BT-300 glasses, if so would you use an OTG cable to connect the controller to the trackpad as well? I enjoy your videos, you make them easier to understand for the beginner drone pilots.

You are such a lovely person. Your expression is awesome.

After going through countless videos on setting up DJI Spark, I have come to the conclusion that your's are the best, hands down.

Whenever I store away my Spark and later after a few months want to fly it, I just go through your videos to refresh my knowledge of setting it up etc. Well done man. You are a champ.
