The DJI Ronin-S is finally here! We’ve all been waiting for this review…too bad this isn’t the review! You will just have to wait a little longer, but it will be worth it. In the meantime, here’s how to balance the DJI Ronin-S, or any single handed 3-axis gimbal you have.

I've been having issue balancing my A7R2 with battery grip and Sony 90 mm Macro lens. I have tried 30-40 times and could never get "Excellent" on Tilt, and I have watched 20-30 different youtube videos on balancing Ronin-S. I can swing it at any direction/angle and it would just stay. I even hold it at 45 and and nothing moved. But, for the life of me, I don't know why I could not get the Tilt to "Excellent". Is it too much to have the battery grip attached? Do you have any tip for me? Can you help? Thank you so much!

Hello atola thanks for the wonderful tutorial! I have a rode vid mic pro. The issue is that it is just big enough that it hits the motor when trying to balance. Do you think it will be a problem to just balance the camera and put it on after? Or will this damage the gimbal or put it off balance? Do you have experience with this?

Trying to balance my sony a7s ii on a DJI Ronin S and I'm having issues balancing the TILT axis. Every video says 'when it maintains its position you'll know it's balanced. But mine won't stay still it just flops forwards and backwards. I read something about using the camera riser plate to prop it but I'm not sure how this is supposed to work. I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure it out can SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP??

Yes Kitty!!! You just helped me do my first barrel roll!! 😂😂💪🏼 I couldn’t do it and thought I had it balanced right, I’m using the same lens so this balance video was so clutch! Your amazing!! 🙏🏼🙌🏼

I balance it at 40mm but when I change focal lengths, it'll bounce/throw off the balance if i change the zoom. Anyone have any tips or advice? Seem like it can't handle the focal length change.. but seen most reviews saying that the motors are strong enough to do so. Please reply me 🙂

Out of all the tutorials… this was THE BEST ONE, I liked yours better than DJI’s one, I just got my ronin s for my channel yesterday and this video helped so much 👍🏼

PAN RE-BALANCE ISSUES READ THIS POST!!! Soooo…I run the balance test on the app (10th time is the charm right?): Tilt: Excellent, Roll: Excellent, Pan RE-BALANCE NEEDED. So I decide after watching about 5 of these videos that I can't be that dense. So, as with all things new and technical, I decide to do the firmware update. BOOM! problem solved!!! Excellent now appears for all three. Ah…I'm not an idiot …the app told me so! Please save yourself some frustration and do the firmware update FIRST. I'm not sure why not a single video mentions this but that's all it took! I hope this helps at least one other person.

I’m struggling so hard with the second balance check when the lens points towards the ceiling. I’m using a Sony a6300 with the 18-105mm f/4 lens but it just always falls done. I have it basically on 0 for that adjustment. I just got this today and have been at this for two hours. Can’t even use it 🙁

Great vid. Where we’re all these balancing videos two years ago? Wait….the gimbals sucked back then and no one uses em. LOL

Quick question for the community: any bag recommendations for carrying an A7iii wih a lens, a second Tele prime, and this Robin S?
