DJI Mavic Air 2 – Active Track 2.0 vs. Active Track 3.0 / APAS 3.0 – Mavic 2 Zoom vs. Mavic Air 2

I use the Active Track feature a lot in my videos. I film most of my videos by myself, and I need a drone that can autonomously follow me. This is a must especially when I’m on my mountain bike. The Active Track 2.0 on the Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom has done a good job. There were still times when the drone would lose me behind small hills or trees. I am hoping that the Active Track 3.0 will be even better, and be able to follow me wherever I go.
I took both drones to a local park. I had never done this with the Mavic 2 Zoom before. I did not know how well it would perform. The Mavic Air 2 should do a better job with the updated AT 3.0, but has fewer sensors than the Zoom.
I will also be doing a follow up video with the drone following me on my bike. I will head out to the same trails I filmed at for the Mavic 2 Zoom Active Track videos.

on the other hand it should be easy to program a code that just follows your past line… The drone tries to stay a lot in its own way, would be easier for Mountainbiking to have a "strict follow" mode, where the drone follows your path, but the camera is focussed on you the whole time…

This is an awesome comparison! I love the movie clip inserts, it makes the video so much better! Had two fails using active track on my MA2. It didn’t register small tree branches and consequently flew right into them. Have been nervous to push it any farther, but thank you for doing it!

Nice comparison….super interested to see why it does in the MTB. I can imagine it won’t do that well given the struggle it had with you just walking. That is unless you don’t MTB on trails in the woods like I do. I know it is asking a lot to keep pace and dodge multiple branches. But it would be super cool if it could do it.
