DJI Mavic 2 PRO or ZOOM? | My Recommendation & Comparison

Zoom or Pro, which one is better for you? Let’s check out footage from both cameras and answer that question. While both drones offer distinct advantages over one another, I always find myself leaning towards one.

I’ll explain why for my use cases, I prefer one of these drones, but if you have different use cases it may be better to choose differently which I’ll also explain.

Never did take any low light video. Low light videos and pics are where the Pro Shines! Of course the Zoom wins when you’re comparing the functionality in great lighting, but it’s when the sun starts setting, or it’s cloudy, is where the Pro BLOWS the zoom away. This video will please the people that could only afford the Zoom, but real Videographers, and photographers know that 1” sensor is definitely where it’s at.

I took my sweet time deciding which drone would serve my purpose. This video affirmed that I made the right choice. I don't take aerial photos, only do videos. I like the flexibility to get close shots without getting close to an object for safety reasons, and to not scare animals when filming them in the wild. My run and gun documentary style of filming is the reason I chose the Mavic 2 Zoom. I guess if I was doing travel or real estate videos, I would have chosen the Mavic 2 Pro.

i was going to go with the zoom but night time flying with low light video was mediocre very short for my liking even trying bumping up the iso and shutter speed was less desirable and some time wasn't always spot on. I went with the M2 Pro and it gave me more control and iso and aperture control during night-time flying.

I have the Zoom and it stands out on its own, creates some fantastic scenic shots, I also have the P4P so don’t need the Mavic Pro, the P4P again is in a league of its own , it’s the Zoom for me out of the 2 Mavics. Regards.
