Autel Evo 2 Video Comparison – DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom

I’ve been waiting to do a video comparison with the EVO II because I wanted to make it a more true side-by-side video by putting it up against the most comparable drone, the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom. Thanks to for loaning me the Mavic 2 Zoom for this this video. In this video, I show your how the video looks straight out of camera all shot in auto mode. I compare the Autel Evo II against the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom. I downsized the 8k EVO II footage to 4K and also show you how the 8k footage looks when at 100% in a 4k frame. Let me know your thoughts on these cameras in the comments section below.

Autel looks far superior. Much less digital sharpness and processing. I prefer the natural look it outputs compared to the other 2. But i like how the Zoom allows the ability to get out of the cookie cutter "widescreen look" that all drones have.

Mavic 2 Zoom seems to have the best video.

Nope… (edit)… I took another look-see and everyone is correct… the Mavic 2 Pro has quite a bit nicer camera video quality.

I have the Evo 2 8K and Mavic 2 Zoom. – and the video can get a lot sharper and less washed out with just a bit of adjustment. Later firmware versions also give a better out of the box quality of the video. The Mavic 2 zoom footage here also had the black point set a bit too dark – shadows can be opened up. Still the Mavic 2 Pro will always have the best dynamic range, but I find the quality of video from both amazing.

One drawback on the Evo – it appears to be a bit more sensitive to direct sunlight on the lens that the Mavic’s

For my eyes the Mavic 2 looks the best on the further away items in the comparison of the three, the bridge looks less distorted and sharper better image as does the camper van, the images on the Evo 6k pro for me looks better as it has the 1 inch sensor over the 8k 1/2 inch sensor. I’m still debating with one to buy mavic 2 or Evo 6k or wait till mavic 3 has to offer ????

WOW OWO WOW – Is it possible you can send me the EVO 2 & MAVIC PRO files, Would love to play with them on Davinci resolve… I have a Mavic Pro 2 & I must say the Evo Looks impressive with its color

I think that the Evo has a more accurate colour profile than either of the mavs. Zoom was crap. Pro was a bit better. DJI is king of oversaturation of colour . I am leaning towards the 6k version personally. Just waiting for the CCP Virus to be controlled or banished, then l shall have one. I am sick of the dji ecosystem and all it's bs.

The pontential of the autel looks amazing. For true cinematography shots theres a lot of data . The mavics are to processed already. And im a mavic pro 2 owner so i know. Autel is doing the right thing here, so much more quality. Sad not everyone notices this.

apparently no one understands color grading. everyone thinks the mavic 2 pro is better than the evo 2 because hes showing out of the box comparison, but for professionals, you're expected to color grade and thus want a flat log picture for post production. so everyone who says the mavic 2 pro is better in that regard has no idea what they are talking about. best to compare pictures in color grading. and compare with the 6k pro evo 2 with the 1" sensor, not the 8k version, because the 6k pro is what is beating the mavic 2 pro, not the evo 8k like he mentions at the end

I hope you are still reading comments here, because I have not been able to find an answer to this anywhere:
Does the Autel Evo 2 support digital zoom in-camera? With the Mavic Pro, it was possible, with the Mavic 2, it isn't , but the Mavic 2 Zoom has optical zoom.
The thing is, if the Evo 2 can zoom digitally in-camera, I can get behind the idea of having 8k on a 1/2.3" sensor. If it can't, it's just stupid. The quality of the footage is just not good enough to enable decent cropping in post.
