It’s the same problem with homes, people can’t afford them and the builders won’t build smaller homes because the margins are too small.
So you have huge houses that people can’t afford, and it’s the same with cars – all the builders want to make trucks because the margins are better.
So who will change this, China of course! And everybody can ride around in a one or two seater car. Meanwhile the US car companies will go bust! Or they will just move offshore and build them there.

    Great vid Harry 👍
Tesla has done amazing things to push the boundaries of tech, but I feel that in their pursuit of acceleration bragging rights, they aren't priced to attract sensible second car buyers.
Worldwide, Western consumers are stuck in the rut of stupidity, like taking kids to school in massive 4WDs & thinking it was smart to buy a diesel & opting for turbos for better performance. Then driving them hard, while fuel economy takes a hit. 🙄
I'll cop flak for this, but Tesla would be better served to educate consumers on buying more compact & practical vehicles instead of launching < 2-sec vehicles for megalomaniacs.
That lost opportunity has set them back & perhaps kept the door open for ICE vehicle manufacturers to continue spitting out toxic rubbish.
Seems counterproductive if the aim is to kill off the ICE market as soon as possible.

Please please get rid of the music. So so annoying. I don’t mind a little bit with your transitions but when you start chatting just you talk and get rid of the background music. You interviewed Peter Rawlinson and played music in the background. What a shame.

Why does EV's so popular now? Why Automakers throughout the world changing to EV's now? Why does the government grants subsidies for EV's? Why EV's are most HOT TOPICS in the multimedia world? EV's promotions? What is the ACTUAL TRUTH here???? From gasoline to batteries??? What is going on here??? Are we running out of resources that Automakers forced to make drastic measures to fulfill demands??? Or due to climate change involving omissions??? Facts is, THEY have the technology to create EV's long long time ago. I wondering why now not before???

i like the video and your efforts, but at the end you spoke about Tesla wich is not presented in your title at all as any model as well so to speak i dont like this part, and Tesla is a crape brand at all no history in the industry and no sexy models at all, so Tesla is not popular in western Europe (only a bit in Scandinavia)
    kind regards from Copenhagen, Dk

I live in the US and in my city EV are very reasonably priced here. I see many on the streets everyday. Price's are not that bad. I test drove. Few many were 8-13k priced.

Starting at 25k you can get a 2 seater with 250mi of range that'll give you some miles back via solar for free and for $900 more you can get up to 42mi/day. Aptera is going to dominate the market. Use the referral code to get to their website, if you don't want to buy don't put your email in the pop-up on the bottom left. I think their website will convince you though. You may want to hurry though. They already passed 4000 pre-orders. For $45k you can go 1000mi/charge.

If you are middle class and own a Tesla, you are car poor. Most people around here I've seen are sacrificing other comforts to pay for the thing. Unless you make 100k+ dont even look at these.

On the other side, I love the affordable alternatives that are making their ways out into the market. I'm already considering one as a city machine. This is where they will do the most good. Gas cars are horrible when it comes to emissions in stop and go, while they tend to do better on the highway. The EV is perfect for city commuting.

I am waiting for the $25k usd equivalent in Canadian compact version (perhaps a van or cybersuv over a model y 7 seater?). I wish they still had the provincial incentive of $14k, combined with the $5k federal incentive it would have been $19k back from a car deal. Of course the Liberals may have never brought out that federal incentive and only make it seem that way 😉 politics my friends

I really dont get it how come Kwid has 250 km range with 26.8 kwh but Skoda has only 225 km with much bigger battery 36 kwh! Is there a mistake or renault just lie?

The Tata Nexon EV looks very interesting. They are available in India. The only drawback was that none of the models offered had cruise control. If it is available in Canada, I would have a serious look at it. Are the prices you have given in USD or CAD?

How about Chinese affordable cars. For example, I live in Greece and got a second hand Jhidou D2 (Toyota IQ knock off) for 3500 euros and a new battery for another 1500 euros, so I can swap them if needed. New price is 7600 euros imported from China.
Yeah, I know that the range is small (140 km from the manufacture)and the charging time is long, but it is a city car.
