2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV – Keeps Getting Smarter!
A brief look at the ‘over the air’ software update utility on the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV. Also, the ‘follow distance’ feature. Your Bolt will keep getting smarter! *** UPDATE*** Chevy hasn’t actually turned up this service yet (Dec 2017). The latest software is 14.4.2 and you’d have to visit the dealer to have it updated.
As far as I know the OTA has not be activated in the car. Have you had it work or did your car come with that software version (I believe builds after Feb are 14.1.0)?
Note GM uses a RADAR/LIDAR sensors for their ACC systems. The 2017 Bolt EV does not have a RADAR/LIDAR sensor in it. So it cannot be software upgraded to have ACC. GM does have some test Bolt EV's driving around with RADAR/LIDAR systems in them (i'm not talking about the cruise automation cars) so I would imagine a future model year (perhaps the 2018) will have ACC or even a Chevrolet version of Cadillac's super-cruise. Note the 2017 Volt has the option of ACC but those versions have a very special grill so as not to interfere with the RADAR sensors.
It had a max distance of over 300 miles. You must drive very well for EV
Wow. Thanks. You have the Premiere i presume ?
